Diorama Beautiful Large Sailing Boat in a Case.

C. Early 1900’s detailed model based on the trading, 4 mast, square rigged clipper ship probably from the 1850’s.
“The Master” is a 4 mast sailing, trading ship, fully rigged but with no sails. There is slight damage to the rigging. The frame to the left of the box has been replaced, we have left this box without glass, the new owner could have the glass replaced by removing this side.
The box is framed in a dark red which has become distressed over time.
The sea blue interior paint sets the boat off beautifully.
The wax finish adds to the fine colour and patina. Some signs of long dead historic woodworm.

A game for two players. A clear board to start, with counters placed on in turn. The aim is to make a "Mill", three in a row, by moving counters to adjoining holes.
An opponents piece is removed for every Mill made.

A old method of measuring distance and area in both UK and America.
These chains provided a simple and easy method for accurate measurement and were very robust and transportable.
An example in very good condition with two Brass Handles, both marked 4P denoting a full chain of 66 foot, 100 Links. All the intermediate brass tags/flags are present at 10 link intervals (1, 2 3 and 4 splits plus circle for mid-way), used to quickly identify intermediate measurements.
